Prism Showcase

Prism showcases are the perfect choice for the display of smaller objects and documents. They offer ease of access with a high level of security and environmental control.

Each glass cover is securely bonded into a system extrusion. All glass to glass joins are silicone fixed, with mitred glass as standard in all cases.

For smaller cases, access to the showcases is either lift-off or hinged. Cases have assisted opening and closing by gas struts. For oversized prism cases a vertical rise and fall access option called “Opal” is available. The system frame is supplied with a powder coated finish to any Dulux or Interpon powder coat colour specification with other finishes available on application.

The versatile Prism system offers many design opportunities whilst fully addressing aesthetic, security and conservation requirements. Prism cases may be mounted into joinery on a freestanding plinth or wall mounted. Standard prism showcases are hinged at back and bottom with required clearance behind. Top hinged prism showcases are ideal for back-o-back or against wall structures.

Museum quality laminated security or anti-bandit specification glass is standard and this provides important protection from external UV radiation. The option of low iron glass ensures that delicately coloured items such as manuscripts, textiles and small objects are seen in their true colours. Colour interlayer glass is also used as a masking option. Assa Abloy™ security locks are fitted as standard.

All materials used within the display chamber are either inert or conform to international museum conservation standards. Environmental buffering materials can be concealed within the case or plinth to provide control of the relative humidity. Likewise other materials such as activated charcoal can be used to control any emissions from the objects themselves.
