Tāmaki Herenga Waka: Stories of Auckland
Auckland War Memorial Museum
Location
Auckland, New Zealand
Designer
Thylacine, Canberra

The relationship between Designcase and Auckland War Memorial Museum is one of our longest, spanning several decades supplying Showcases and Gallery furniture.  The Tamaki Stories project delivered a number of gallery spaces during the 2020 global disruptions, and is testament to the strength of our working relationship and the leadership shown by the Museum during this time.

Designcase supplied and installed over 50 proprietary Spectrum and Opal1 showcases, based on a standard and repetitive design aesthetic, with individual showcases receiving a tertiary fit-out which allows the Content and Collection Objects to shine.

This project is a beautiful example of celebrating the collection and storytelling.  All spectrum cases were delivered flat-pack for on-site reassembly, making use of the TESS (demountable) Spectrum system.
